As Nashville residents, we are familiar with the pros and cons of a big tourist town - interesting sights and great food on one hand; heavy traffic, long lines and crowded attractions on the other. The same goes for visiting tourist hot-spots in Ireland - everyone loves to see the mystical Book of Kells, the towering Cliffs of Moher, the legendary Blarney Stone; but of course they’re all constantly aswarm with visitors.

Over the years, we’ve developed a style of travel that draws us down the little roads to seek out authentic and memorable experiences. As luck would have it, Ireland is dotted with picturesque and adorable villages and small towns, every bit as charming, as historic and - in the case of the food and drink - as delicious as anything you’d expect to find in Dublin or Galway.

Here are a few of our favorite little Irish towns, scattered around the island. Each one has a unique quality that draws us there, and calls us to return.
