Nativity Scenes from around the world

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Santuario del Greccio, the site of the first living nativity scene, presided over by St. Francis himself in 1223.
The site is free to enter, and there is a large museum there of nativity scenes from round the world. We love to seek out museums like this in remote locations; they are often free to enter and sometimes charmingly quirky (I’m looking at you, Umbrella Museum).
Here are some of my favorite pictures of different nativity scenes; there were dozens more of diverse styles and sizes.
