The Best Things In Life Are Free - Tuscany Landscapes

One day last week, as we explored the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany, we had a couple of appointments – a lunch at a special place and a cheese tasting – but we spent the lion’s share of the day walking beautiful pathways and driving back roads. If you looked at our schedule on paper, it would have seemed pretty light, but it felt quite full.

I am mindful of this when I make itineraries for clients, because often what they are reading at home may look thin. But when you are here, you can see why: the “in betweens” from stop to stop are just stunning. The landscape here is gorgeous in every weather and every light. After all these years of traveling here, often Matt still says to me “It doesn’t even look real”, because the natural landscape is so beautiful.

In our itineraries I will often pop in little sights on the way: a particular church, or a special overlook, or a quirky bar, but I hope that our travelers are taking the time to really linger, and gawk, and imprint this on their minds.

Here are a few pics we took on that one day, from places we visited.

A hundred percent of these were free.
