Little Roads' Memoir Gains "Finalist" Nods in Two Independent Book Awards

We’re excited to note that our memoir, published last year, has recently been recognized as a finalist for awards from Foreword Reviews and the National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA).
In past years, our Little Roads guidebooks were also winners and finalists with these organizations, each of which highlight independently published books like ours. It’s exciting for us to continue to garner attention for our memoir, which documented our crazy move from the US to Italy right before the global Covid-19 pandemic.

I found this jewel while searching for books to help prepare my wife and I for our move to Italy. I was very pleased to find it to be a valuable resource for what to expect when we move. What I didn't expect was it to read as a beautifully spun story peppered with humor and sarcasm. You really get a sense of Matt and Zaneba's ;) frustrations with the process of immigration at the same time feeling the sense of beauty and culture from this great country! A must read!

I finished reading this book with my heart filled with hope, joy, love, and music. Matt and Zeneba's journey is written in a touching and personal tone, as if told by long-time friends. We travel with them on scooters, cars, planes all the way to Soriano; we worry with them about the cats and the immigration deadlines to meet; we celebrate their successes and the way they were adopted by their new country.
